Beach Cities Speech Therapy (BCST) offers in-home therapy to address a wide array of speech and language disorders in the comfort your child’s most natural environment. Our team is comprised of highly talented, California licensed and ASHA certified clinical speech language pathologists. Our therapists are highly qualified and trained to develop an individualized therapy plan tailored to meet the exact needs of your child. Comprehensive services are provided for children ranging from toddlers all the way through high school aged students. Services are offered primarily in the home, preschool, and/or daycare setting.

Bridget Hillsberg CCC-SLP, co-founder of BCST

Bridget Hillsberg has over twelve years of experience working with children in the home, preschool and elementary school settings. Bridget is a speech language pathologist who holds an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certification of clinical competence (CCC-SLP), a speech-language pathology California state license (SLPAB), and a teaching credential. She received an undergraduate B.S. degree in communication disorders from The University of New Hampshire (UNH) and a graduate M.A. degree in communicative disorders from California State University Fullerton.

Bridget is highly acquainted with the diagnosis and treatment of speech and language disorders with clients ranging from the early intervention population through high school aged students. Bridget has experience assessing and creating individualized therapy plans for clients with speech sound disorders, language delays, autism, social skill deficits, stuttering, orofacial myofunctional disorders, late talkers, and apraxia. Bridget’s model for BCST focuses on advocating parent involvement by teaching parents how to embed their child’s speech and language goals into everyday activities to increase generalization and decrease therapy duration. Bridget is trained and specializes in the following:

Brooke Dwyer CCC-SLP, co-founder of BCST

Brooke Dwyer M.S. CCC-SLP, co-founder of BCST, is a speech-language pathologist who holds an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certification of clinical competence (CCC-SLP), a speech-language pathology California state license (SLPAB), and a teaching credential. She received her Masters of Sciences degree in speech-language pathology, along with a reading specialist certification, at the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, Massachusetts. She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary and special education from Providence College in Providence, RI.

Brooke has over 12 years of experience working with children of all ages in both school and home settings. Over the years in all her work settings, Brooke has planned and implemented therapy for children with language-based learning disabilities, cognitive communication and executive functioning impairments, autism spectrum disorders, speech sound disorders and fluency disorders. Through administering and interpreting assessments, she has identified the needs of her students, developed goals based on their needs, and created individualized therapy plans tailored to each student. Brooke is trained and specializes in the following:

Brooke has a love for children and when she is not working she is a mother to three young children of her own. Brooke enjoys using her personal experiences as a mother and speech pathologist to help guide and educate BCST parents on integrating speech and language techniques into real life experiences.
